About Us
RainDance Soaps is a small, woman-owned cottage business located just outside of Seattle, Washington. We enjoy the flexibility of a small business because it allows us the freedom to experiment and the opportunity to interact with our customers in a way that big corporations just cannot. Every batch of soap is made by hand, just twenty bars at a time - this allows us to monitor the quality of each and every bar of soap.

Behind the name is a dedication to creating wholesome cleansing and moisturizing products that are free from petroleum products, fillers, animal fats, surfactants, or detergents. We believe in a more natural approach to cleansing and with more than twelve years under our belt, we've learned a thing or two about making great soap!

Every bar begins with our infamous Seattle rain. We collect and filter the rain, taking advantage of this naturally pure water source. The oils we use are all food-grade vegetable oils, and scents are derived from herbal infusions,  pure essential oils or skin-safe fragrances. Colors come from a wide variety of sources, from herbs and botanicals to clays and micas, oxides, and FD&C dyes (cosmetic grade).  Of course, we also offer unscented and uncolored varieties.

We are committed to staying small - so don't expect to find RainDance Soaps at your local grocery store. While this may seem odd in today's global economy, we feel it is important to stick close to our roots and focus on what we do best. You can shop online or visit us at a craft show in the greater Seattle area (check the "Local Appearances" page for a calendar of events).

If you ever have a question or concern, don't hesitate to shoot us an email. It may take us a day or two to respond, but it will be a personal response (no canned replies here!) and you will be dealing directly with the soap maker herself.
